Our programs are designed to encourage strengths and abilities and provide opportunities for further growth. We also respect the need for quiet time and personal pursuits depending on the preferences of each resident.

Special celebrations
Celebrating special days and occasions in the year is an important part of our community life. Columbus Residence holds monthly birthday parties for our residents and nearly every holiday is celebrated in some special way. Family and friends are welcome to join in our celebrations which include our annual Summer Social and BBQ and our annual Light Up for Christ and Family Night evenings in December.

Music Programs
We offer music programs that support a wide range of musical tastes. Staff and volunteers help provide musical interludes and sing-a-longs for our residents. In addition professional musicians and singers perform at many of our special celebrations and events.

Our residents also benefit from the regular individual and small group programs offered by our Music Therapist. Music Therapy meets a wide variety of our residents' needs; promoting and facilitating self-expression and social interaction, reducing tension and anxiety, and helping to ease physical discomfort.
